Signing Up

In starting, you can simply register free to Monitor Backlink and use trial period. You can upgrade to premium version once you have explored it and its features. As you can see below, no payment details required. You can just enter your basic details and start using trial period.

Once you have registered yourself. You can login to your account. First thing is to add your domain that you want to monitor your backlinks for.

Adding Your Domain

Simply go to “Select A Domain” and click on ‘Add new domain’.

Once you click on this, you will get below option to add your domain.

Adding Your Keywords

Once you have added your domain, next thing is to add your keywords (in case if you want to track rankings for your keywords). You can add keywords – one per line as shown:

Adding Your Competitors

As I have mentioned, you have the option to add the website of your competitors. By doing so, you might find new link opportunities for your blog.

You can add your competitors by clicking on ‘Competitors’ tab.

How To Use Monitor Backlinks

This tool is a powerful platform with many features. The dashboard provides you with your blog analytics on various parameters (as you can see below)

You can see your ranking and evaluation on following factors:

• Monitoring Your Backlinks (Incoming Links)

As discussed earlier, it is very important that you should monitor all the incoming links regularly. This tool helps you to track down all your backlinks either to your homepage or blog posts. You can easily see which of your posts are highly linked and have the potential to link more.

This will help you to check various parameters on the incoming links (backlinks), you have on your website.

The other one good feature is it shows you low-quality backlink signal also. You might have noticed one warning signal on one of my backlinks (highlighted above). Once you hover over it, you will find why it is low-quality backlink.

You can disavow this low-quality incoming link directly by clicking on ‘Disavow domain’. I hope you know what does disavow domain means. If not, here is a brief description from Google –

‘If you believe your site is being harmed by low-quality links you do not control, you can ask Google not to take them into account when assessing your site by disavowing those links’

Though you can disavow your low-quality backlinks by using Google Webmaster Tool, but this tool also helps you in finding those low-quality links and disavowing them on the go.

You can disavow multiple links also by uploading your list or by adding rules. For instance, if you don’t want links from comments that use certain phrases, you can add a rule to automatically disavow it.

Monitoring Your Competitors’ Links

You can simply track your competitors’ links also from this very effective tool. You can now see what new links your competitors are building. You can also make use of those opportunities.

Navigate to ‘Competitors’ tab where you have added your competitors. For instance, I have added one competitor as of now. I can see all incoming links by clicking on ‘View Links’. You can track down all your competitors’ links as shown with all useful information and you can create user report also.

Monitoring Your Keyword Activity

As said earlier, this tool helps you to monitor your keywords positions and activity also. It shows where your keyword ranks against your competition and which page the keyword points to.

This is a good backlink checker tool which helps to check backlinks free. I am quite satisfied with this powerful tool and information provided by it. One other good thing is it sends alerts via email also if you have any updates. I highly recommend giving it a try at least by starting trial period for one month. If you will want to go for the premium version, you can easily upgrade your account at a very low price. I am sure it will always be worth
