After posting many articles on computer tricks, I have written an article on unknown facts about android. Now these days everyone prefers to have android in their Smartphone. But many do not know all about android. All they know is that android is an operating system developed by Google which allows us to download many free and paid applications. But now I am going to tell you many unknown facts about android which are quite interesting.

1) Who gave birth to Android?
It is the first question that comes in everyone’s mind. But on a very serious note, Google did not give birth to Android. Android Inc. was actually a company bought by Google back in 2005. Android Inc. was originally founded in 2003.

Ever gave attention to the versions launched by Android?? Did you notice that Android versions use the alphabetic order such as A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,??? Is this driving you insane?? Have a look below-

3. What does Google get out of Android
Google wants to capture a large market share of Mobile Ad revenue. Some people think that Google is a search engine company. Some people think it an email company, or a web host, or a content distribution network (CDN) provider, or an application provider for businesses, or… the list goes on and on.
But the truth is, Google is an advertising company. They sell advertisements.
Advertisements for your website, they sell advertisements they include in your search results, heck they even sell advertisements for the apps you use on your phone!
4. Android is Open Source:
Some people don’t know this, but Android is actually Open Source.

Android is built using various programming languages such as C, Java and C++. C makes the core and Jave take care of the UI.

Google’s Android logo derived from the Atari Game called “Gauntlet: The Third Encounter”. Or at least it seems so, looking at this comparison picture.
6) Releasing Date
The first commercial version of android was released on September 23, 2008.
7) Licensing
Google gives Android free of cost to cell phone manufacturers.
8) Hub of App
There’re 430.000 apps available apps for android phones and tablets. Roughly 20.000 new apps are added each month. To compare there are roughly 590.000 apps in app store (for iOS devices)
