NEW DELHI: Samsung is catching the interest of one and all. Samsung Germany has sent invites for an upcoming device being. This invite says “So big can be small and so small can be big” and “Get ready for a little sensation” in German. According to reports, Samsung Mobile’s press invite shows the ‘S’ logo from the Galaxy S III and carries some hidden clues which together indicate that the company might launch a smaller-sized Samsung phone Galaxy S III Mini on October 11,2012.
Rumours say that the smartphone will be powered by Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and and a dual-core processor. The report also stated that the S III Mini will feature 4-inch Super AMOLED WVGA display, and a 5MP rear camera. Other specs and the Android version on-board are still unknown.
If this product will really be launched, it will be a good alternative for those who want a smartphone with a 4-inch screen which is same as the new iPhone 5. Considering that Samsung’s current 4-inch Android smartphone, the Galaxy S Advance, has not been updated to Ice Cream Sandwich, it is possible that the Galaxy S III Mini will take its place.
Samsung is also staying at the reins of Indian smartphone market, given the devices launches in almost every segment and Samsung Galaxy series has become a known sub-brand in the country.
Samsung Galaxy S III Mini, if real, is likely to be a big hit in markets like India, where not every can afford the company flagship Galaxy S III. The media is assuming that the company might be launching Galaxy S III Mini- a week before Apple Mini iPad.
