Chetan Bhagat is the one of the famous novelist and writer. Asked in an interview, he has given some of the tips and certain views that how morning is important to him and how he starts his day. “Mornings are extremely important for me. So much so, that I often skip functions and parties the night before because I simply do not want to wake up late. My kids (Ishaan and Shyam) go to school, and my wife Anusha goes to work, so I wake up early to see them off.
I usually wake up around 6.30 am and have tea with Anusha by the window in our living room. It has a gorgeous view. We are lucky to have an apartment facing trees and greenery in a crowded city like Mumbai. Also, that time of the day is often the only time my wife and I get to talk uninterruptedly.
I stay away from having conversations on difficult or intense topics in the morning. Such discussions can change your mood from calm to anxious very quickly. A gradual, slow way to wake up and become alert is healthy, and ultimately leads you to become more focussed through all your activities in the day. It is at this time of the day that my mind is clearest and most optimistic, so I plan my ‘to-do’ list. I try to retain these feelings throughout the day, though it is difficult.
I’ve often wondered why people have parties at night, when everyone is tired and anxious. Instead, why not meet early in the morning? I guess that tells you I am getting old. Well, I don’t mind because I have started to believe that mornings are beautiful and those who miss them live a little less than others.
