NEW DELHI: A new breaking news has been revealed regarding the 5 year old child rape case that occurred couple of days before in Delhi. The father of a five-year-old rape victim in Delhi has identified a cop who allegedly tried to bribe the family to not register a case, official sources said on Wednesday.
Police sources said the father of the East Delhi girl identified the policeman who allegedly offered a bribe of Rs 2,000 to the family for not registering a “first information report (FIR)” in the case. However they did not reveal the identity of the suspect.
A relative of the victim told IANS that the girl’s father identified the culprit from 13 photographs of policemen shown to him. The photos were of policemen from constable to inspector rank.
Earlier, Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar told that the police official who allegedly offered the bribe could not be identified because the victim’s father was not available for the identification process, so this process was delayed.
The five-year-old girl was abducted on April 15. She was kept hostage for two days and sexually assaulted and brutalised in a room in which the attackers lived on the ground floor of a building in east Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar. The girl’s family stays in the same building.
The girl was rescued when members of her family heard her screams on April 17. She is now being treated at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) which is one of the reptated and illustrious medical hospital of India.
